Scutigera behaviour?

Hello guys, I happen to have been visited by a scutigera in my flat. It was around 11pm, reading in bed and he came to say hello around my bed. However, I’m (sadly) a phobic and it made me jump out of bed. Switching on all the lights of the flat, I reached the kitchen where this 5cm centipede followed me. Then I reached the bathtub and stayed there. He was doing circles in the house, and to my horror, visiting. I couldn’t handle it and went to sleep in my neighbors sofa at 2 AM. Coming back this morning at 7AM he was in my bed (not moving). I was so spook I worked outside from home. Coming back around 1 PM, he had not moved from my bed and my neighbor killed it for me. However, I am confused. How can I be sure that the insect has been killed properly ? He didn’t move for HOURS. And he was in plain light, in an open space. How can I know it wasn’t some spare skin (i don’t know this word in english)? Is it a known behavior?

Thanks guys, I hope I am at the right place.
