Just bought a jar, acetone, pins, and a small display case to start. I learned how to catch, pin, and label insects for collection after taking an entomology course several years ago. The problem is that it is winter and I live in Michigan. Any tips for finding cool insects in this weather or should I just wait until spring? My initial idea was to go on some hiking trails and look under rocks but not sure how successful I will be. Also, any tips for preservation besides keeping the display box sealed? Thanks!
