Hi, fellow insect lovers. I'm working on an animation project and showing a mosquito. I want to get the mouth parts generally right and I can't seem to find out whether the lip--the covering for the pointy mandible--is dexterous as the mandible becomes unsheathed?
In other words, does the lip pull back, revealing the pointer due to pressure impact on the epidermis? Or does the lip peel back of its own mechanics?
This isn't a science or education related animation, but I still just like to get these sort of details right.
