I'm in southeast Michigan and have a compost tumbler in my backyard. On the outside of the tumbler I have noticed was look to be possibly cluster flies but they never fly, some look normal, some look slightly deformed. My question is it because of a lack of predators these basically defective flies are able to survive into adulthood living off of the compost? And what would be a natural way to get rid of them?
