After viewing some of the posts here, I'm now interested in starting my own collection of preserved insects. As a side not, I would prefer to have my specimens mounted on display rather than in individual jars of rubbing alcohol. Should I start by collecting some local species or should I get some exotic ones online. If I start with local species, then where do I go to get supplies? Also, which is preferable to buy, mounted or unmounted? Thank you, I appreciate any advice with this.
