I live in Massachusetts and we recently had a snowfall. It’s all melting and now we’re finding yellow jackets in our kitchen. We killed one last night, killed two more this morning, and now there’s three more! They all hang around our skylight window and could potentially be coming in from there? I read that only the queens hibernate while the rest starve off. Why are they coming into my home now? Is a queen looking for a place to hibernate but maybe some straggling workers are following her pheromones? Any info on this would be so helpful!
