Will a fallen gall still hatch?

I found a gall from an acorn plum gall wasp and I was wondering if it would still hatch if I kept it and/or what conditions it'd have to be in?

I'd like to keep it because it looks pretty, but I don't want it to hatch inside unless taking it back outside will completely prevent it from hatching.
