I woke up this morning to around 10 dead bald faced hornets on my porch. I don't leave the light on over night and I'm not aware of a nearby nest. I've googled this and no obvious explanations. Has anyone seen this before?
Sorry if this isn't allowed. I was recently recommended a post from this sub with a discussion about getting over a fear of insects in the comments. I have this fear and I want to get rid of it really bad. I have a specific problem with spiders. If any of you were previously scared of bugs, what got you over it?
I wanna see cool pictures and/or fun facts about bugs. I'll go first: Grasshoppers/Locusts are my favorites, but cicadas are a close second. Super cool fact: Locust swarms have been documented literally eating the wool off of sheep, in masses so big they can be followed using weather maps!
i've just found a couple of dead crickets on the floor and i'd like to use them for pinning! however, i feel like they're pretty dry from sitting in the sun for a while. is there a proper way to rehydrate them for pinning without damaging them too much? thanks!
I'm trying to use Google to find this info but almost every result is talking about MurDeR HoRn*Ts so I can't find any good info.
I'm mainly trying to figure out of the eastern cicada killer is bigger than the European hornet.
